With our existing groups growing in size, and the development and future launch of the South Wight group, we are constantly on the look out for new enthusiastic supporters. The role involves coming along to the group every week, enjoying yourself and supporting the group leader. The support comes through making teas and coffees in the break, setting up and setting down the room and supporting participants to ensure that they get the most out of the session.
Independent Arts is a small charity based on the Isle of Wight founded in 1987. Working predominantly with older people, the purpose of our work is to address the main issues faced by our ageing community: dementia, social isolation and disadvantage. We use the arts as a tool to improve health, wellbeing and quality of life.
We have over 25 years experience of delivering a wide range of arts activities in a variety of settings. Through our Workshops for Wellbeing programme, we deliver creative work in residential settings across the Isle of Wight.
Our funded projects allow us to deliver arts opportunities for local people in the community. We are always striving to identify new ways to reach people, through engagement in the arts and creative activity.
